This course provides expert-level insight into the profound effects of terroir, viticulture, and winemaking across major Old World regions. It delivers advanced knowledge of global sparkling win and fortified wines, with a focus on iconic regional styles and quality benchmarks.
The program also analyzes current global wine markets, trade regulations, evolving consumer trends, and premium/luxury positioning strategies in the Old World. It is ideal for professionals targeting top-tier certifications (such as Master Sommelier, WSET Diploma, or CMS Advanced/Master Sommelier) or senior leadership roles in the industry.

Examination & Assessment Criteria
- Written Examination: 40% Composed of 50 multiple-choice questions and 5 open-ended questions assessing theoretical knowledge from all chapters.
- Wine Tasting Evaluation: 60% Practical tasting session assessing students’ ability to analyze and describe wines using professional tasting techniques.
